Title: Friendly: Italy v Holland
Post by: Lazio365 on November 11, 2009, 11:14:36 AM
Italy face Holland on Saturday night, here is the squad Lippi called up.

Goalkeepers: Buffon (Juventus), De Sanctis (Napoli), Marchetti (Cagliari)

Defenders: Bocchetti (Genoa), Cannavaro (Juventus), Cassani (Palermo), Chiellini (Juventus), Criscito (Genoa), Grosso (Juventus), Legrottaglie (Juventus), Maggio (Napoli), Zambrotta (Milan)

Midfielders: Biondini (Cagliari), Camoranesi (Juventus), Candreva (Livorno), De Rossi (Roma), Galloppa (Parma), Marchionni (Fiorentina), Palombo (Sampdoria), Pirlo (Milan)

Forwards: Di Natale (Udinese), Gilardino (Fiorentina), Palladino (Genoa), Pazzini (Sampdoria), Rossi (Villarreal)

Good to see Pazzini there along with Palladino who has been in good form for Genoa. Nice to see a call up for Biondini also I think, has done very well for Cagliari for the last two years.

I'm really not too optimistic of the Azzurri. I think Holland has a great team but they usually choke on the international stage. The last time Italy played Holland was in the euro's and Holland completely outclassed italy back when they were coached by donadummy. The only thing donadoni did right was selecting cassano which up until now i have no idea why lippi won't select him.

Fan storms field wearing a Superman shirt that also said "Cassano in Nationale" too funny!  I think that was the only action we got out of that game.

 ;D ;D

yeah, just about.

Thought Candreva did well, and Biondini looked decent when he came on. I hope Pazzini starts midweek against Sweden, think he deserves a shot from the start this time.

Missed the game but can't be too upset with a tie against holland which is a great team. Next is sweden.. i hope lippi finds his winning formula soon it seems like the roster changes every game but the one missing ingredient he's overlooking is definately cassano and even the fan who stormed the field was kicked out of the stadium to prove his point .. unless he had other motives just to get publicity which is just as likely and if so he succeeded.
