Title: Should/Would Amauri play for Italy ?
Post by: TDotWop on September 15, 2009, 06:56:11 AM
It's been debated for a while and whether he can get his italian citizenship on time for the WC, apparently it will take another year so it's likely not going to happen. But do you guys think Amauri would make a difference on the Italian NT ? Should he be fielded over Luca Toni who has proven a great scorer in leagues despite not really the best performer when it comes to the International stage.

Go NO! He's not italian .. whats the point of the world cup if teams are just taking talent from other countries. I also think he's seriously over-rated. We already have iaquinta on the national team who is far better and has proven consistent.  If we  want to add another striker bring foggia, cassano or balotelli.

I agree Campioni, if teams keep doing this the floodgates will open and eventually the dynamics of national football will be changed too much. Italy has so much depth, hes not really needed. Paoloshi, Pazzini, Cassano, Balotelli could all be added to the squad alongside Iaqunita, Gilardino etc. Foggia too for that matter, though I think hes better on the wing myself.
